M'BOGO

Cecil

In 2015 a lion in Zimbabwe named Cecil was killed by Walter Palmer, an American dentist, provoking a global outcry. The story of Cecil’s death turns the gaze back on to us and our behaviour. The simplicity of the outrage is a stark contrast to the complexity of the reality.

Use enough DEATH

It has been seven years since I have had a new movie; not since 2005 when I filmed Death Rush. In between I produced two excellent movies, “Greatest Hippo Charges” and “Greatest Buffalo Hunts” which were composites of previously viewed footage. In Use Enough Death…all of the footage is brand new!

Animal Planet: Growing Up Safari

This delightful Animal Planet series follows young animals facing special challenges. Zookeepers, veterinarians and other animal specialists explain their role in helping to get the youngsters off to a good start. This collection's four episodes feature the first year in the life of baby elephant Maximus; a trio of zebras at a sanctuary; an orphaned giraffe named Kulula who joins a new herd; and the truth about the much-maligned hyena.

Serengeti: Nature's Greatest Journey

The Serengeti's fight over life and death is between predator and prey. The omnipresence of grazing animals means abundant kills for prides of golden-maned lions. Solitary leopards haunt the acacia trees lining the Seronera River, while numerous cheetahs scour the southeastern plains. Almost nowhere else in Africa can all of the continent s jackal species be found in the same place. The immensity of this animal drama is equaled by the liberating vastness of open space so characteristic of the Serengeti Plains, which extend out from sun-baked savannas to shimmering golden horizons that seem to lie at the end of the earth.

Curiosity and Control

Curiosity and Control examines our complex relationship to nature itself. A multi layered look at the world of Museums of Natural History and Zoological gardens, with voices from historians, authors, architects and zoo managers. It raises questions about how we perceive nature and our contradictory behavior of caging what we fear may be lost.

Wildlife South Africa 3D

In this three part documentary we look at all topics South Africa has to offer. THE BIG FIVE focuses on the kings of animals, lion, rhinoceros, elephant, leopard and the African buffalo. Armed with 3D cameras, we visited the Kings of the savannah and the jungle, where we sensed the fascination that emanates from the largest animals in the wild. In SAFARI we look behind the scenes of a park and found out what it means to pursue eco-tourism and just what the opportunities and the risks are. Finally, we discover the WEST CAPE region and its unique flora and fauna, swim with whales and sea lions, follow penguins and – as a highlight – we meet the white sharks. Join us on a spectacular 3D journey.

African Adventure: Safari in the Okavango

Safari

Africa. In the wild expanses, where bush-bucks, impalas, zebras, gnus and other creatures graze by the thousands, they are on holiday. German and Austrian hunting tourists drive through the bush, lie in wait, stalk their prey. They shoot, sob with excitement and pose before the animals they have bagged. A vacation movie about killing, a movie about human nature.
