For many addicts, returning to neighborhoods plagued by drugs and abandoned houses that serve as drug dens makes relapse almost inevitable. Through their nonprofit, Gemini Reliance, the Rollins brothers purchase dilapidated homes and transform them into safe, sober living spaces for those in recovery. Their efforts have proven effective, yet sobriety remains a constant battle. The story of HEROINOHIO begins as a profile of these two brothers but soon unfolds into a raw account of a fight against the powerful grip of addiction, revealing the relentless resilience required to reclaim one’s life.

In one re-enacted story, there is a wartime escape through the mountains, and in another, a daring rescue of a pair of climbers who had been missing. The actors themselves are adept at the sport of climbing, and they give the scenes an immediacy and real daring that brings the stories alive. A combination of their acrobatics and skill and the outstanding episodes in the history of French climbing creates a winning 78 minutes.

Madness in Aleppo

The film follows physician Dr. Hamza al-Khatib and nurse Um Ibrahim in al-Quds Hospital, by then the last operational one in besieged East Aleppo, through the lenses of photographer Abd Alkader Habak. Amidst the misery and death, they, with other main characters managed to find moments of love, fun and laughter. With them we live the time of despair but also that of hope. Until the moment comes where they were all forced to leave with no return, for now at least.
