The Wolf

American surveyor William MacDonald visits an Ojibway village in the Canadian Northwest. He seduces a local half-breed girl named Annette while her fiancé Baptiste and half-brother Jules are away trapping. MacDonald then abandons her. When Annette realizes she is pregnant, she wanders into the forest while delirious and is killed by wolves. Jules and Baptiste seek revenge. They track MacDonald to the cabin of a cruel Scotsman, Andrew MacTavish, whose daughter Hilda is loved by Jules. MacDonald tries to convince MacTavish to let him take Hilda to America. Hilda falls in love with Jules instead. When Hilda, Jules, and Baptiste try to escape in a canoe, MacDonald follows them. Jules fights MacDonald in a duel with guns and knives, killing MacDonald before leaving for Montreal with Hilda.

When Capt. Granson learns of his wife's infatuation with Britton, he makes trouble for Britton, who is soon forced to resign his commission. He signs up as an army scout, and learns that the Indians are planning to attack and massacre the 7th under the command of Col. George Armstrong Custer. Can he get to Custer in time to warn him of the impending attack, and will he--a disgraced army officer--be believed?

A Pasteboard Crown

Under Sybil's encouragement, fellow actor Jim Roberts, disillusioned by an unhappy marriage, improves and becomes her self-appointed guardian. Sybil returns to New York and begins rehearsals for "Romeo and Juliet" with Thrall as her costar and Roberts as stage manager. Meanwhile, Thrall's unhappy wife obtains a divorce, and Roberts, recognizing her as the woman who ruined his life, blames Thrall and shoots him at a performance as he bends over "Juliet" on her bier. Thrall recovers, however, declares his love for Sybil, and looks forward to happiness with her.

Norton, recruited by Arsdale’s rival to incriminate his opponent surreptitiously tries to compromise Alice and Arsdale, consumed with jealousy shoots him, ruining all their lives.

Haunted Island

Rosalind Joy (Helen Foster) is an heiress who has inherited a South Seas island known as Pleasure Island. A hidden cache of gold is allegedly buried on the island, which has several haunted structures. Rosalind's uncle, Spring Gilbert (Al Ferguson), wants the gold for himself and declares he will stop at nothing, not even the death of his niece, to get it. Rosalind, meanwhile, is befriended by Jerry Fitzjames (Jack Dougherty), a playwright. Unfortunately, Jerry has only recently escaped from a psychiatric hospital. Although he swears to protect Rosalind, she doubts Jerry's sanity. The two lovers race against Uncle Gilbert (who has set several traps for them) to find the treasure. In the end, Rosalind and Jerry are aided by the "Phantom Rider," a spectral horseman.
