The Heart of Vukovar is a Croatian documentary which shows the events of the Vukovar war hospital during the Croatian Homeland War. The hospital was a symbol of the defense of Vukovar agains the occupying Serbian forces. The movie shows how it managed to operate under impossible conditions after being bombarded, up until the day the city fell to occupying forces

Remember Vukovar

During the early stages of the Croatian War of Independance the Serbian paramilitary forces, assisted heavily by the People's Army of Yugoslavia, manage to make their way into the small town of Vukovar, which quickly becomes a no man's land. However, despite the chaos around him, radio reporter Siniša Glavašević is determined the get the word out, chronicling both the efforts of the Croatian army and the siege of the enemy side.

The Adventures of Tartu

British Captain Terence Stevenson accepts an assignment even more dangerous than his everyday job of defusing undetonated bombs. Fluent in Romanian and German and having studied chemical engineering, he's parachuted into Romania to assume the identity of Captain Jan Tartu, a member of the fascist Iron Guard. Tartu makes his way to Czechoslovakia to steal the formula of a new Nazi poison gas and sabotage the factory of its manufacturing.

The Death Train

In Iasi, Romania, from June 28 to July 6, 1941, nearly 15 000 Jews were murdered in the course of a horrifying pogrom. At the time, the programmed extermination of European Jews had not yet began. After the war, the successive communist governments did all they could to ensure the Iasi pogrom would be forgotten. It was not until November of 2004 that Romania recognized for the first time its direct responsibility in the pogrom. All that remains of this massacre are about a hundred photographs taken as souvenirs by german and romanian soldiers, and a few remaining survivors.

The Forest

In 1947, Yugoslav President Josip Broz Tito visited, for the first time, Romania. Its communist regime gave him, as present, a painting from a great Romanian artist Ion Andeescu: 'The Leafless Forest'. In the 60s, a young art critic, Radu Bogdan, decided to elaborate a monograph dedicated to the great painter, including reproduction of the painting given to Tito. After countless problems, he obtained the permission to photograph the painting. The moment they took the painting off the wall, they found - a microphone. Somebody was spying on Tito...
