While enjoying a date in a park, a man carelessly tosses an empty bottle onto the ground. His selfish littering promptly summons an imposing figure wearing a white hockey mask. The gruesome events that follow tell an admonishing tale about the importance of preserving the outdoors and defending the environment from the ugly menace of litter. The short was made for the tve YouTube Relay project, but wasn't included because it's too violent.

Growth Vitamin

The teacher at school made a scientific experiment - he put two rats in different cages. One of the rats was given carrots containing vitamin of growth, and the other did not feed. Time passed, and the rat, to whom nothing was given, became thicker than the rat that was fed. It turned out that one student from pity fed another rat.

Bernardo owns a furniture industry. In his sixties, he lives alone. After his father's death, he has to count to ten everynight to fall asleep. Time goes by, and it seems like he just can't fall asleep.

The Deal

Stop-motion animation on the arranging of marriages in 1950/60s set in the Eastern-Polish borderland. The script is based on a part of Mikołaj Smyk's diary, the director's grandfather. The biographical objects used in the animation, such as an authentic headscarf, Polish and Russian books, the copy of Mikołaj Smyk's diary and photographs help situate the story in its original environment.

False Memory

Unwilling to accept the death of his friend Shi Yan, the protagonist materializes him in his memory in the form of Bug Man, who he plays with to escape from the depressing reality. Bug Man in monitored by the Memory Management Bureau, and memory collectors Fang Tang and Bai Zhong are assigned to retrieve him.

The motif in this animation is the memories of my dog which lived 17 years.

BEACH

This animation was based on a scene I dreamt, where white smoke was rising from a bed. I was influenced by one of Zhuangzi’s thought, The butterfly dream, and visualized the contrast between dream and reality. While I was creating this piece, I was never aware of whom the man sleeping in the movie was, but somehow, he ended up looking just like my grandfather.
