Featuring exclusive interviews with the musicians themselves, Until the Light Takes Us explores every aspect of the controversial movement that has captured the attention of the world.

Heavy Trip

Turo is stuck in a small village and the best thing in his life is being the lead vocalist for the amateur metal band Impaled Rektum. He and his bandmates have practiced for 12 years without playing a single gig. The guys get a surprise visitor from Norway -- the promoter for a huge heavy metal music festival -- and decide it's now or never. They steal a van, a corpse, and even a new drummer to make their dreams a reality.

Death Metal Murders

But death metal musicians deny that they have any responsibility for the actions of people who profess to be their fans. With exclusive access to the families, one of the killers and graphic police footage, the film tells the inside story for the first time. We hear from the musicians, the children and the parents from Oslo to California and ask just how far can music go in its ability to shock, and just how damaging might it be?

Mayhem is the most notorious group in the annals of black metal. Their nearly 25 years of band history are characterized not only by uncompromising and brutal music, but also by suicide, murder, arson, and many other scandals. Revered by their fans, Mayhem are feared and loathed by the mainstream public. 'Pure Fucking Mayhem' is a 90+ minute DVD documentary featuring exclusive interviews with current and former members of Mayhem. This documentary attains a maximum of authenticity with its rich, often unreleased footage.

Behemoth - In Absentia Dei

Behemoth has raised the bar when it comes to livestream shows. This year, the music industry has been hit hard following the COVID-19 pandemic that has affected the entire globe. While concerts are starting to pick up, the life and shows we remember that took place just over six months ago remain uncertain. Bands had to think quickly and reinvent the wheel to connect with their fans. We’ve watched artists perform in their pajamas, bands have streamed a set from their rehearsal space, and others have taken to Twitch, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook to have live Q&A sessions. Metallica have also stepped up to the table to bring over twenty consecutive weeks of their series. However, Behemoth’s Absentia Dei livestream spectacular took place on September 5th from a secret church location in Poland.

Windir: Sognametal

After the tragic death of Windir frontman and founder Valfar in January 2004, the rest of the band decided to bury Windir with Valfar. But after encouragement from Valfar's family, the remaining members decided to do one last Windir concert. The concert took place at Rockefeller auditorium in Oslo on September 3rd, 2004, which is the day that would have been Valfar's 26th birthday. Rockefeller was sold out, and over 1200 people took a final Farewell with Windir.

Samael: Black Trip

The Black Trip album from Swiss heavy metal band Samael is a double DVD set which contains a concert held on Summer Breeze Festival (2002), a live concert held in Live in Studio TVP Łęg, Kraków, Poland, in 1996 during their "Passage" world tour and also a bootleg concert shot in Illinois (USA) during the "Ceremony of Opposites" tour. There are also video clips for the songs "Jupiterian Vibe", "Infra Galaxia" and "Baphomet's Throne" as well as some interviews and footage shot at Woodhouse Studios during the making of the Passage album.

Murder Music: Black Metal

The main themes of Murder Music are: the musical origins of black metal, from Birmingham, UK hard rock group Black Sabbath to Newcastle extreme metal pioneers Venom; the anti-Christian sentiment of its practitioners; the controversies surrounding the criminal acts (arson and murder) of the early Norwegian scene; and the paradox of a Christian form of black metal, represented by Scandinavian band Frosthardr. The 64-minute documentary eschews much of the tabloid sensationalism that shrouded the genre in the early to mid-'90s, focusing instead on the music itself, an element thus far overlooked by the mainstream media.

Grima - Live at Hellfest 2025

Grima plunged Hellfest into an icy torpor, draping festivalgoers in their atmospheric black metal. A performance carried by the dark melodies of the album Nightside, released in 2025. Grima's music is as cold and fatal as the land where it was born: Siberia. Formed in 2014 around twin brothers Morbium and Vilhelm Sysoev, the band has since crafted a unique universe, fueled by pagan imagery and sounds that are both brutal and hypnotic. Filmed on June 21, 2025, at the Hellfest Open Air Festival, Clisson.

Satanic values, glorification of evil and unsolidarity, as well as pure hatred towards Christian and multicultural society, are more than just childish rebellion for the people involved. Eternal Flame of Gehenna examines the phenomena through interviewing the key figures of the moment. It gives a face to a subculture seen as a threat to common safety by Finnish Security Intelligence. In this movie, one will find out about the thoughts of a grave violator, grave robber, and hear what they feel when an old wooden church is burning down. Eternal Flame of Gehenna is also a view on the history and the current state of Finnish black metal, featuring bands like Azaghal, Azazel, Barathrum, Beherit, Enochian Crescent, Goatmoon, Horna, Satanic Warmaster etc.
