The turbulent life and professional career of vaudeville actor and silent screen horror star Lon Chaney (1883-1930), the man of a thousand faces; bearer of many personal misfortunes that even his great success could not mitigate.

Dream

In the 1920s Horacio Coppola studied modern languages, photography and film, set up the first cinema club in Buenos Aires, and travelled to Italy, France, Spain and Germany, where he trained with the Bauhaus photographer Walter Peterhans. After visiting Vienna, Budapest and Prague, still hotbeds of secessionist art, Coppola returned to Berlin and made the experimental film Traum (Dream, 1933) with the theatre director Walter Auerbach, a nice short influenced by the French & German surrealists.

A newly elected village parson is required to marry his predecessor's widow. However, he's already married, and the woman is old enough to be his grandmother.

Victim

A father sacrifices an animal on the day of Eid al-Adha according to the traditions and customs of the past. According to the old custom, he gives the last bowl of water to the goat, but his son tries to save the goat. The father angrily looks for them. The boy makes the goat run away and puts the rope around his neck instead of the goat. This short film refers to the story of Ismail and Ibrahim in Islam.

Matrimony

Three couples experience contrasting moments: one argues at home, another at a restaurant, while the third — the same couple from the domestic scene — shares an intimate moment at that same restaurant.

Graziella

During a trip to Naples, a young French man falls in love with a fisherman's granddaughter, Graziella. They are separated when he must return to France, and Graziella soon dies.

Nana

Count Moffat becomes infatuated with Nana, a presumptuous stage actress, vulgar, hypocritical and promiscuous, willing to do anything to succeed.

A man loses his hearing and learns to appreciate life through silent films.

Racing Romance

Racing Romance is a 1927 Action film. According to a brief article in the St. Petersburg, FL Evening Independent newspaper, the film was centered in the world of automobile racing. The article also noted that racing sequences in the film were shot at the "world famous Culver City Race track," which referred to the Culver City Speedway, a popular racing venue that opened in mid-Jun 1924 and was located adjacent to Washington Blvd., close to M-G-M and other movie studios. Apparently it's a lost film.

Dreams of the Past

A film about peace, love and war. Dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the end of the Civil War in Russia. The film takes place at the end of the summer of 1917, when Russia and the whole world were at a crossroads between two eras. None of the people could even imagine how much his life would change in the very near future. In a strange way, the atmosphere of the film echoes our current reality and what is happening in Russia today. According to the form of visualization, the film belongs to experimental mockumentary cinema. To give greater authenticity to what is happening on the screen, the shooting was carried out on black-and-white negatives of 16 and 35 mm, hand-operated cameras were used and the material was developed in manual spiral tanks. The documentary chronicle of the Kolchak army of 1919 and the White army in the Far East of 1922 is embedded in the finale of the film.

Prinz Kuckuck
